From 8 to 11 September 2026, the European University of Technology (EUt+) took part in EAIE Glasgow 2026, an international forum for higher education and cooperation.
The Alliance presented its joint work through a dedicated space in the exhibition area. Booth F26, provided with the support of ECOMO Group for EUt+, became a meeting and exchange point. Representatives of different universities discussed their activities, exchanged ideas and explored opportunities for future cooperation.
EUt+ also took part in two discussions focusing on issues of key importance for Europe – technological competitiveness and STEM talent.
In the session “STEM talent in European university alliances: Policy and practice for attracting and strengthening talent in Europe,” EUt+ participated together with EELISA European University and the European Commission. The discussion addressed ways to attract, develop and retain STEM talent in Europe, as well as joint doctoral programmes, the European Degree and mobility, together with the challenges related to recognition and funding.
The second session – “Building Europe’s competitive edge: How university alliances of technology can become strategic assets” – focused on the role of technology university alliances in strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and technological sovereignty. The discussion explored the links between education, research, innovation and industry, and the opportunities to turn research results into concrete technological applications.
According to Prof. Lidiya Galabova, the presence of Technical University of Sofia at EAIE Glasgow 2026 expands the University’s international network of contacts, opens up new opportunities for partnerships and increases its international visibility. Technical University of Sofia contributes to EUt+ joint initiatives in areas including student and academic mobility, joint educational programmes, the European Degree, research cooperation and interaction with industry. Membership in the Alliance therefore enables Technical University of Sofia both to strengthen its own international activities and to play an active role in building EUt+ as a common European academic space.
The European Association for International Education (EAIE) is a professional organisation established in 1989, whose activities focus on the development of international higher education. This year’s conference and exhibition took place in Glasgow under the theme “The Rhythm of Revolution” and brought together more than 7,000 participants from universities and organisations around the world.
“The Rhythm of Revolution” – the rhythm of change – finds a natural continuation in the work of the European Universities alliances. This rhythm is created through sustained and purposeful efforts to develop educational programmes, new structures and new forms of cooperation. In this way, new opportunities are being created for high-quality European education based on knowledge, mobility, research and strong links with technological development.
EUt+ is part of this rhythm of change.
